7 Sisters by Distant Fires Burning
Released on September 01 2009. It’s an album with 7 tracks that refer to the myth of the pleiades. According to the myth the 7 Sisters commited suicide at the same time, because they couldn’t bare the faith of their father (Atlas). Out of compassion Zeus put them in the sky as stars. The star cluster Messier 45 is also called the 7 Sisters. The brightest stars are named after the 7 pleiades.

In 2007 Gert started to experiment more with ambient and it became clear that Distant Fires Burning was the vehicle for a very personal expression and one in which the bass guitar re-entered as the primary source. Distant Fires Burning is Gert’s expression through bass - enhanced and manipulated to create a very unique and personal sound.
