Ribcage Door from Flicker & Swirl by Dishpan Fingers

I wrote this tune about three weeks before my youngest daughter was born. I could imagine her tiny hands unfolding in her first bath. It references how looking through a kitchen window, you might see chaos and noise and clutter, but you also see a family, a coffee pot brewing, the things I hold close, despite the interruptions.

Introspective narratives tinged with melancholy undertones and melodic vocal hooks. An acoustically-driven performance with lo-fi leanings and a lyrical transparency. Dishpan Fingers laments the unburied ghosts and awkward moments, but stops to notice the important things, like supermarket specials, bluestone walls and factories ... also people.
