Although Catherine and me had played together before, this was the first time we played as a duo. in fact Northern Landscape was the very first piece we played together. We didn't discuss the music before we played, there were no scores or anything, just a little soundcheck and than we started playing. Amazing how every piece seemed to tell its own story and had a perfect ending. Some wonderful hours on a Friday evening !

Dirk Wachtelaer is a drummer and improviser who is also active in sound art. Born and based in Belgium, he constantly crosses borders by collaborating with artists from all cultures and disciplines. He plays with Dirk Johan Stromberg, Fabio Rambelli, JJ Duerinckx, Paul Schutze, Phillip Clemo, and many others.
