falling forward by diego melgar

when i find myself unsure of how to make it out of whatever mess i find myself in, there is comfort in reminding myself of how i've fallen forward in the past. i hope this music gives you the joy, comfort and confidence to turn any obstacle you face into an opportunity.

the titular 'falling forward' draws from my early musical days - falling in love with music under the wings of my first guitar teacher rae houghton, and later studying jazz guitar with sandy poltarack and john hart. i'm extremely lucky to always have had teachers who encouraged me to carve out my own space and develop my own voice. 'all i see' and 'to the face' were produced for the second edition of my concert series 'pachamanca' and feature samples from the rehearsals for this show woven into beats i produced in the past year. 'twenty two years', 'life can really fuck you up', 'fourteen percent' and 'floating islands' are also from my past year of producing, combining my love for minimalist dance music and avant garde artists.
