I know people who pray a lot
About what they’ve lost

I know people who cry the tears
Tears cried for many years
A life of peace
A life of war
A life of wondering
What life is for

The sound they hear inside their head
Of people dying and people dead
The song they sing
The words they know
The passing of time
And where it goes

The sun appears, the sky is blue
Hope skids along like me and you
We trust a lot, we trust some more
And then we wonder what trust is for

Where they go and where they stay

Of anything we want to know
