forgotten by wading through decay
this placeโฆ there is something strangely and uncomfortably familiar about this place. i can almost feel the brushstrokes again, smell the old paint mixed with something rotten and the acrid scent of burnt wax. i recognise those eyes and mouths screaming in terror. i feel that grief and that endless sorrow. i can hear those screams and desperate wails tearing at my heart. that weight feels like a huge boulder, stopping me from moving. iโve been here sometime before. at first, it felt like a distant memory, but the more i focused and really listened, the clearer it all became. it feels like it was a lifetime ago, or like it was a whole other life. but is that really the case? these memories seem so distant that itโs not immediately clear whether theyโre truly your own or whether this deep journey within has played a cruel trick on you. but i see it now, these memories and feelings are mine, i canโt forget that. not anymore. remember, remember, remember.
