I was working at my job the other day
When unbidden, a thought just came my way,
If this world is what they say it is,
Then we use as a mirror pure show biz.

When you've got the TV on and everything is great,
In those plays of ads and lays they're acting out your fate

It reflects the ideals of our times
Memorizing solid soap and grime,
Moving with each program change that comes,
Feeling fine, full-range, and overcome,

And flies into the state, too passive to resist,
And forgets what it saw and what it might have missed.
