The Sun
has started to go out,
solidifying,
slowly dying.

I was disowned,
abused and forgotten
by my father.
We were never close
when I was small,
so why should I
even bother
with trying to hold onto him,
considering what he did?

From afar,
I see a ripple
turn to a wave.
Out of the water,
comes a mermaid.

She was strained,
repeatedly forgotten
by her father.
So she had to
reveal herself
o’er
and o’er.
She tried to escape through vices,
but then she sought help.

Now she’s but a ghost,
saying one last goodbye.

Sweet dreams,
our Flowering Mermaid Queen.

There’s no
bitterness in
my heart.
I have to let Sol go,
for my own health.
I need to release
this hate,
release this loneliness.
