Oil Money by Samrai, LINTD, Raheel Khan

Producer/Facilitator Samrai (of Swing Ting/SEEN Magazine), vocalist/composer LINTD (of GOMID/Smooch Soundsystem/FEED) and multidisciplinary artist Raheel Khan (known for work with the likes of Nabihah Iqbal and Paul Purgas) join forces on "Oil Money".

This is the first solo release from Samrai since 2016 linking up with phenomenal talents LINTD and Raheel Khan on his new label Sangha Industries. “Sangha” is Balraj's Mother's Maiden name which comes from the village Kala Sanghian in East Punjab. The label particularly looks to prioritise releasing the work of migrant and Global Majority communities.

The single is a provocative piece which digs into the pressures of being turned into blood, sweat and grease for profit. The second half of the track explores the triumph over such petty deaths. Sonically it weaves in and out of space and sound, minimalism yet maximalism with shimmering synths, sublow warmth, stuttering drum machines and staccato tabla tones, giving space for LINTD to punctuate their haunting yet evocative vocals.
