Recorded at Old Crow Recording Studio in Whitehorse, Yukon, this self-titled release is Declan’s first full-length studio album as a solo artist. A rich fusion of roots, blues, jazz and rock, the album features nine original songs, with Declan backed by an ensemble of the Yukon’s best musicians. Declan multi-tasks on this album, while co-producing alongside Jordy Walker, he served as songwriter, lead vocalist and instrumentalist on piano, Hammond organs and Wurlitzer piano. He also collaborated with trumpet player Daniel Timmermans to create horn parts for several cuts on the album. To top it all off, Cheap Souvenir, a new composition featured on the album, won him the Westcoast Songwriters International Songwriting Competition in the Blues Category, the only Canadian finalist.
