Lyrics
Thought by now the boys stopped countin’.
Rolled my head on down the mountain.
A rush like fiery red-hot rolling thunder down
to the vacant vastness of an ending.
Or to midnight blueness, my soul desert,
with a stormy, dark-expanding belly.
Hot, black eclipse and bulbs of energy behind
shuttered flashes like an old movie.
Now on without me, they went droving
for buffalo and time worth spending.
But did those Yaqui arrows blacken out the sky
then rain upon them like God’s fire.
Finally, all spun it’s last hour.
A creeping hollow lonesome empire
of everything we know and even all unknown...
Who stood to watch the final ember?
