Phlebotomy by Dear Laika

'Phlebotomy', the new single from Dear Laika, is an exploration of the concept of “queer time” in the context of medical transition. This theme is reflected by the time-stretched choir sample that forms the foundation of the song; its sound is alien, at once syrupy and vaporous, creating an intoxicating sense of melancholy calm. I’m still waiting. And so we can begin to process time in a different way. Years of empty waiting can feel like time is standing still or like time has been stolen away from you."
