I’ve come to realise that family’s got nothing to do with blood.
We choose to share this life with open hearts that resonate with love.
So we make room at the table, squeeze in another chair or two
And we find our lives connecting, breaking bread and sharing wine.

Come join the family, come join this Spirit tribe.
You make me family, I’ll make you part of mine.
Everyone needs family, someone to walk beside.
If we reach out we’ll see what family can be.

It’s not about geography, good hearts can span an ocean if they try.
Love is such a mystery, not governed by the laws of space and time.
When a searching soul finds refuge there’s nothing finer in this life.
It’s a glimpse of what is coming, a precious taste of heaven on earth.

It takes work to make it work;
Take it for granted and it fades away.
Sometimes we’ll still get hurt,
That’s why we all need grace.
This much I know -
Family makes love grow.
