Gate from Five Works by David Schafer
Gate references a cut-up text collage of William Burroughs from the 1960’s. The text was transcribed, and using a digital voice program, the spoken word was slowed down and processed creating a whispering quality. Gate is a sound component to the sculpture of the same title.
