Another day, doomscrolling in our beds. Doesn’t
feel like there’s another way, for these full and weary heads. We
cannot run away so we dive nose down instead
Another something thousand dead

What can we say, when it’s already been said? From
the very day, they told us it would spread, we
saw its face, but again we were misled
Another something thousand dead

We cannot fake, these feelings in our mind. There’s
a time and place, but it all gets pushed aside. So
another day, if we stop we’re left behind
Another something thousand died

And in LA, hospitals are packed inside.
Morticians frayed, and can’t keep up in time
Another place majority nonwhite
A day when something thousand died

What does it mean, that we let it get this way? Where
do we keep, the fear, the guilt, the shame? There
was a fee, when we hid away the pain,
another something thousand paid

So let us mourn, let us let the hurt run deep. And
stay indoors, let us rest and let us weep
Weather this storm, but let us to a promise keep
We’ll let another thousand sleep
