Depths from While Away by Dave Makins

A strange one, this. The opening sequence was written for 'A Crossword War' and was to represent the lurking U-Boat menace. Then the song began with the delayed piano, a sonic doodle created one afternoon some years ago. Then the came a mental picture of being deep in the sea looking up at the keel of a boat and sunlight. So it didn't set out to be a song about depression- but that's what it now seems to be.

Dave Makins is an English musician who grew up loving pop, rock, prog and classical music, then fell into large folk shaped hole for thirty years.
He will have a go at playing anything, and often does in collaboration with Kevin Adams.
