Hurricane Sounds by Dave Godfrey

Recorded in the dark during Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas while Dave Godfrey was without power. Playing and recording music helped pass the time as there was not much else to do while surrounded by the floodwaters below. Features songs on mandolin, ukecello (baritone ukulele tuned like a cello), bullroarer, and acapella. A Zoom H2N field recorder was used.

Dave Godfrey is a mult-instrumentalist who specializes primarily in fretted stringed instruments. While he originally played guitar and bass in hard rock bands, he now spends more time playing electric phin, bouzouki, mandolin, and Appalachian dulcimer. Dave was enchanted by the sound of the electric phin and decided to focus on building a catalog of songs based on this wonderful instrument.
