Maybe it could've been better,
the verse could have been more profound
Things that were said nearly moved me,
but the chorus kept getting me down

And the part where he cried was a train wreck,
I would've done anything else
What will be said about all of the things I've done
Will they remember some of the good

Then it came back from the mayhem,
thinking it spoke from the soul
Claiming to know where the truth lies,
saying it's better we don't

And then there's the build up through the metaphor
Hope for salvation from the inner war
Interpretation clearly delusional
Lousy arrangement clearly confusional

We all write our song but who listens,
to all that our souls have to say
about all of the life that we're living,
every god given day

I think my song could've been better,
could've had something to say
Maybe it's all I can hope for,
for you to remember this day
