Bearing by Pan Techno Icon
Bearing is the third Pan Techno Icon album, a double. Each of the twelve pieces of music is made up of twelve shorter pieces, recorded separately, then edited together to form a twelve minute track. It is virtually in chronological order. This is very much a collection of short ideas; beginnings... then the editing process became an important part of the composition. Blind layering, an aural exquisite corpse. Something we’d been trying out in Placement and then in parts of Atlantech Bossloper. I wanted to develop this technique further.

In my hands a soldering iron is most useful as an instrument for torturing Mercedes Benz drivers. Nevertheless, boxes of wires needing power are my preferred devices for making sound.
