In the early 20th century, homeless travellers were known as hobos. They used freight trains to travel across the country and earn a little money here and there with small jobs. The heyday of the Hobo subculture is long gone. But the track-side atmosphere still inspires. In order to capture the "Das Hobos" feeling, various sound recordings and projects have been created over the years.
