Well the Sun was sitting right
Burning bright across the sky
On this little plot of land
Illuminating the whole neighborhood
Well it’s hard not to fall out of love
With the one you met in your younger years
But now you’re fashioned in
Looser skin and a much wiser mind
So nervous to stray from the times
That’s why you had your kids to keep you hip

Days keep rolling in
To each other, while others begin
Seasons drift and float by
We’re waving our hand to this current lifetime
But we practice this at each days end
Knowing we will awake again

The mosquito landed right
On your skin and took a bite
Well it’s just cause you were born
With sweet blood in your stream
And all these photographs cannot lie
You for sure have your, your Grandmas eyes
Past down through centuries
Through all the females in your family
Well she’s way mature for her age
Aren’t we all eager to flip the page
And call that coin in the air
To determine fate it’s heads or tails

While we watched our kids, splash their cousins in
That plastic baby pool
Oh it’s so eerie to come full circle
On this little plot of land
While we held each other’s hands
Just like those basement kids
We used to be watching those old movies
But we somehow blinked our eyes
