Basins by Dan Potter

Each 'Ejecta' is a sonic world built of tones generated by real time effects treated guitar performances. Every musical performance I engage with reveals not only something new about music but also of the electric guitar, an instrument that I have been playing for more of my life than not. On 'Basins' I decided to do various duos with myself by recording one single channel electric guitar improvisation and then coming back the next day to record a secondary response. The results are a selection of densely layered instant compositions that for me bring to mind impact sites and particles flying through an atmosphere eventually slowing down to settle somewhere.
