Northern Shores / The Turning of the Tune
We finish with two waltzes, both recent compositions. The first, Northern Shores, was written by Danny while on tour with the band Mórga in 2013. It was belatedly named in autumn 2024 on a memorable road trip from Minneapolis to Thunder Bay, Ontario, on the North Shore of Lake Superior. We pair it with fiddle player Sinéad Kennedy’s beautiful composition The Turning of the Tune, which, despite being relatively newly-composed, already has become established as a classic within the Donegal regional repertoire.
