Awake/Asleep by Daniel Ottini
Like everyone else around the globe, 2020 brought with it COVID and lockdowns and (as a result) a chance for reflection and creation.
This "lockdown” double album features IDM/Ambient sides (to reflect the bipolar nature of the times) - I particularly prefer the Ambient tracks 10-18 as they reflect a certain solace/resignation of that period. The IDM side (tracks 1-9) has some "quirky" experiments - including a microtonal track (there are a number of anagrams for titles - see if you can guess them!).
Overall, there are definitely Electronica elements to the album, but there are equally Soundscape/Dark Ambient/ Tribal Ambient elements (based on field recordings of the time), so I would not classify it as purely representative of my Electronic work.
