Gravity by Daniel Casares
After barely delving into mainstream modern jazz ever since his formative years, guitarist Daniel Casares delivers 6 original tunes in a high-energy modern jazz style.
Most of the compositions feature non-functional harmony, showcasing raging solos by Daniel over creative and steady support from the rhythm section. Some of the tunes (2, 4) were composed back in 2017 as a college student, and the ending tune was written in 2012. Gravity shows the guitarist's modern jazz improvisational approach, while remaining true to the punk aesthetic that he has been following lately. Fuzzed-up bass is a must, and the drums are tough. Turn it up loud and enjoy!!

Daniel Casares is a jazz guitarist, composer, and producer from A Coruña, Spain. He graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 2018. Daniel released the EP "Villa Bonita" in September 2022 on HOUT Records. His first album for the same label "From a Cabin in the Woods" came out in October 2023. The artist released the album "1971" in 2025, revisiting early jazz fusion with a futuristic spin.
