Hommage à Ravel from Headlands by Daniel Berkman
Recorded at the Omnicircus in 1998. It was a spontaneous improv using Kora, Oberheim Echoplex and the Digitech Whammy 2 pedal.
The driving feel and the modal changes in this improv were evocative of Maurice Ravel's Bolero. I was heavily into his music at the time.
