VOICES

In this theater we sit in different rows
we never met, but still feel so close
and we're trying to make this place a better play
with kindness and with grace

But lately it's too heavy on our hearts
the sun turned black and devil dealt the cards
and people die and stones fall from the sky
and no matter how hard we try

We know our hands and hearts are much too small
The night's too dark and we can't save them all
And we have too many words, too little time to speak
and our voice is much too weak

So we're up at night and trying to breathe
and we feed our hope though there's nothing to eat
We try to close our eyes but still see it all so clear
we can't help but cry out the world's tears
