New Moon by Danai Simou
“New Moon” is the debut EP release of Danai Simou. Defined by it’s lo-fi, dark, experimental, chamber aesthetic, this album is a narration of the stages of an intimate relationship. Love, fear, disappointment, anger and a restart. Five love poems transformed into soundscapes made of broken pianos, live recordings, violin orchestrations and analog synths, partially recorded live. Repetitive, melancholic, sarcastic and aggressive, “ New Moon” has a raw approach in songwriting and performing.
The project is accompanied by a limited edition tape cassette, two photo/poetry zines entitled “Full Moon” and “Eclipse” and a stainless steel sun pendant necklace.
