Rauhnacht

The year breaks here.

Between Christmas and the turning of the sun, the nights open.
The old ones called them Rauhnächte — the rough nights, the nights between rules.

This is not an album.
It is a passage.

Twelve nights.
Twelve readings.

Some were spoken centuries ago and almost vanished.
Some were written by the living, who listened carefully.
All were carried across the same dark.

These are not warnings.
They are not lessons.
They do not ask to be believed.

Burn incense.
Lower the lights.
Listen without haste.

What passes through these nights does not stay —
but it remembers being seen.
