"There wasn't much in mind for this release. Paralytic Love was conceived of as a covid pandemic project in a span of about 3 and half weeks haha. We knew we wanted to write some neo-grind tunes and I personally wanted to keep it straight forward and heavy while not sacrificing that modern dissonant, mathy and grindy-death metal sound." - Cave Moth
For a spur of the moment album, it is completely baffling how crushing and formidable of a release Cave Moth was able to produce. Self-described as "adderall grind", there truly is not a more apt way to describe their music. Paralytic Love features the trappings of mathcore, death metal, and grind, making for an utterly brutal album from start to finish that will appeal to any fan of extreme music. Techy, odd rhythms, dissonant chords, and soaring leads overlay riddling blasts, pummeling breakdowns, and spaztic drumming with growled, screamed, and gurgled vocals; only three of the 8 tracks even amount to over a minute in length. All of the technical prowess of mathcore is there, the hardy, gnarly vocals of death metal are present, alongside the speed and urgency of grindcore. There is not a single moment's rest, nothing but utter and complete punishment from start to finish. A quintessential album for heavy music. A must listen (not to mention quick listen) for fans of grind, metal, and extreme music as whole; you will immediately fall in love.
