Discover Detroit by Corporation Tramways and Fine Arts Committee
We've never been to Detroit but this tram has. After its line between Burton-on-Trent and Ashby-de-la-Zouch was closed in 1927 it was used as a garden shed, but by the 1970s there was enough left to start a restoration programme. It was then sold for use on a new tourist line in Detroit, but that closed down in 2012 and the tram eventually came home to Britain and is now at Statfold Barn where it is seen just after it arrived. After refurbishment it now carries passengers once again.
