A deep emotional dynasty
The label wasn’t her choice
Yet no one heard her voice

Overworked and underpaid
Her troubles see her passions fade
She entered a lively bar
To perform on stage like a star

Sitting on a fresh barstool
She turns to me and thinks I’m cool
We discuss our strife for fame
As she explains her boss is to blame

One day off to socialise
With a glass of wine to optimize
She buries her face in dismay
Then I turn to her and say

You’re not alone

Is this something I can live with?
Is this something that will eat at my life?
Will people be able to put up with me?
Will people be embarrassed to see me?
Can I escape my self-pity?

Given time, I’m sure you’ll rise
Over grief, the nerves and passions demise
The host is calling you to sing
So give it your all and strength it will bring

She walks to the top of the stage
Then opens her book and turns the page
The light is blinding her eyes
Awakening her inner cries

Her stuttering echoes her scare
She’s forgotten her poem and is standing bare
Breathing heavily in fear
With a single rushing tear

Telling her to take her time
In the limelight, this is her prime
We won’t judge her tale
As we are all equally frail
