Angels from Orange Sun by Craig Redpath
Definitely a favourite to play live. Angels came about after I discovered a poem by William Henley called Invictus. It’s about pushing through difficult times with valour and courage. It’s about being in control of your own fate (…I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul). When writing the song i used the sentiments of this poem along with the idea of blocking out noise from anyone who has disagreed with my choices or doubted my ability. I think the melody draws closely to something you might hear on a Kasabian record, another band that have been huge in my life. It has a lot of swagger and a very cool vibe to it, could be a stand alone single in my humble opinion!
