Creatures by Cosmonaut Radio

“Creatures” is the newest project from Cosmonaut Radio. Inspired by turbulent times both within the band and globally, the EP explores feelings of uncertainty and how we choose to understand, cope with, and exorcise our personal demons. Whether it’s partying with friends or sleeping around, moments of levity are a precious commodity, but they can also lead to unforeseen consequences and, in the worst cases, irreparable damage. This EP is the product of several years of extremely collaborative songwriting, many cuts and sonic overhauls, major assistance from keyboardist Andrew Koehler and engineer Rashid Ramkissoon, a few major life events, the worldwide political and societal upheaval, and, most tragically for us, the departure of founding member Michael Tamola, whose final funky bass grooves with the band are immortalized in these songs. “Creatures” is about learning to accept, appreciate, and grow from all of life’s experiences, grand, fleeting, depressing, joyous, or otherwise, while always knowing that the future still lies ahead, and it is whatever we make it.
