‘Runaway’ is the brand new track from the Melbourne based 3-piece Cool Explosions. The single is the first taste of the forthcoming debut mini-album, mixed by avant-alchemist Nick Herrera (Haitus Kaiyote / Nai Palm).
The single is the most recent offering from the emerging songwriting partnership Vehl/Young - the band's lead vocalist Elle Young and keyboardist Matty Vehl.
Restless and unrelenting, ‘Runaway’ is both an impulsive cry for escape, & an uneasy acquiescence that such a solution is ultimately no solution at all. Elle Young’s effortlessly soulful vocal keens across a tumbling scroll of marbled FM samples and strings, amidst a volatile barrage of dam-breach drumming by rising drum star Alex Roper.
