Her name was Beverley
she used to like the Everley Brothers
She never got in trouble, 'cos she cleverly
blamed all the others
though I say regrettably
she never loved me
like I loved her
She used to come and call for me
but any fool could see
that she liked my brother
who was really only into stamps and trains.

Her name was Beverley
the cutest girl you'll ever see
ever
she used to wear her hair in bunches
had cheese sandwiches for lunches
usually cheddar
I used to dream about her
thought I couldn't live without her
quite naively
but when I felt her breath upon my face
I thought that it was ace
albeit cheesy
whilst mine mostly smelt of chips.



Her name was Beverley
she used to smoke quite heavily at weekends.
She drank cider and black
listened to Massive Attack
and REM, just like her friends
although I say it meagerly
she was in a different league to me
not even the same sport
she was everything I wasn't
she was popular and confident
or at least that's what I thought.
And then I met her ten years on.

Her name was Trevor
dressed from head to toe in leather
with a tattoo of an eagle
on her nether regions.
Well I never.
And I'm glad I never did.
