From static by Death Run Radio

While it started out as a collection of compositions with no apparent link between them, « From static »'s lyrics slowly revealed a recurring theme, present throughout the five songs of the EP in one way or another: the distorded perception of reality, and the inevitable loss of one's bearings linked to it.

Thus, the songs explore different aspects of this theme, like apophenia, depression, solitude and the need for belonging or individualism at all cost, often to the detriment of yourself or those around you.

Mixing influences from previous projects with a heavier sound and borrowing frome different genras like math rock, prog, or alternative music. This EP represents both the end product of a musical era distilled throught hte five songs on this EP, and the premices of the songs to come. It is a foray into a decomplexing alternative rock, who's not afraid to bend it's definition.

The name, « from static », comes from a rehearsal in which the guitarist picked up the radio through his amp, we then decides to treat this EP like a flux of viewpoints and ideas, where every song is a different frequency, inadvertently captured.
