Kairos from Dreaming Again by Cloud Tangle

Kairos is a soft guitar-dense track experimenting with lyric writing. The majority of the song follows one long trailing sentence, which slowly unfolds a vivid image and experience as well as an immersive emotional state of peace. Besides the innocent love theme, Kairos embodies the feelings we go through when spending time in our bedroom-whether that’s comfort during an afternoon nap or unease during a thunderstorm. The repeating guitar loop floats with the vocals in an almost melancholy mood, while the effected swells and orchestral elements play into the narration.

“The title Kairos describes how our perception of time varies based on subjective values of experience. It comes from one of two Ancient Greek words for time, the other ‘chronos’ meaning an empirical measurement of chronological time. The story focuses on the minuscule elements of a somewhat routine experience, yet there’s a desire to draw it out and make it last. Often the peaceful and rich moments where we are truly present and engaged in life, go the quickest - that’s Kairos.”
