Twentytwenty by Cloudland Blue Quartet
Twentytwenty (Crispycat 2008 - 31 December 2020) is a compilation of recordings made during 2020 by Cloudland Blue Quartet, often in collaboration with others or integrating others' work into the pieces.
Of the 27 tracks on this double CD length album, 18, plus the 15 minute bonus track, are previously unreleased (109:34).
The collection features tracks taken from the 2020 albums "Satie", "Cage", "Beethoven", "Disquietsongs", "Disquietmusik IV" and the EP "The Surrender of Barcelona (1934-1937)" (64:30)
The previously unreleased recordings include live performances by CBQ with Capital Models from January 2020 covering Bob Dylan, Lou Reed and Brian Eno; remixes from the album "4th May, 2020"; rehearsals of Cloudland Blue Quartet songs by CBQ & Capital Models; solo acoustic versions of songs from the Cloudland Blue Quartet albums "Soundingfall" (2009), "Doveloveshawk" (1999) and Capital Models' "Maskless" (1980); tracks from the forthcoming album "Sparklemusik"; a solo cover of a Bob Dylan song; previously unreleased collaborations with American double bassist, Tim Webb and with unmet drummers; and solo and collaborative pieces previously only available as bonus downloads.
For those who download there is a previously unreleased bonus track "Mrs Robinson and the Surrender of Barcelona", created especially for this release.
