Charlie Parker
Born in Kansas City, Kansas, alto saxophonist Charlie Parker came of age musically playing at late-night jam sessions in clubs and saloons in Kansas City, Missouri. He first achieved national fame as a member of the Jay McShann Band. During the 1940s, Parker along with Dizzy Gillespie created bebop, a revolution in jazz. “Yardbird Suite” and his other compositions continue to inspire musicians. poets, painters and other artists.

Cliff Baldwin is a composer and filmmaker. His work has been shown at Anthology Film Archives, The Kitchen, PS1, Parrish Museum and aired on NPR. His compositions are played by the BCR Big Band in Kansas City, MO. He founded the Aquebogue Contemporary Music Ensemble in 2014. He performs live film and music sets solo.
