The Oscillatorium by Clay & Claw

1. The Caves Provide

The Gnome Communication Central Gnomathon Department of External Gnoming are meeting at Gnome HQ. They have received word from the field diagnostic team that a very promising seam of Oscillatium has been discovered and is ready for extraction.

2. Hauling Ain't Easy

The parts are brought up bit by bit. Up and down dale. Come rain or shine. Through thick and thin marshy bog land and the sprawling dry plains. Treading on thin ice and trying to maintain a positive attitude. It is weary and sometimes we wane.

3. Assembly Is Art

The clicky-clack of the parts coming together of our most treasured possession warms our spirits. Soon it will be up and running and we'll have usable Oscillatorium coming out of our gnome-holes.

We've had the parts for generations and between expeditions, we take the best care possible. We don't exactly know how to make them anymore. We don't know where they came from either, to be quite frank. That part of the story is lost to time.

4. Fire It Up

Such a satisfying sound after all the work we've put in. The hard part is over and we can let the Oscillatorium do it's thing.

"How does it work, you say? Well, that would be *cough* telling now, wouldn't it? Are you recording me? Gnome News, ok. Let me see. Well... we harvest the crystals, shovel them in piles and onto the input conveyor. Which takes them into the Oscillatorium. Did you know that, as well as coming out pink, the yield is over twice the weight of the original materi... What's that? I know very well how it works, thank you very much. I just... Oh, is that the time? I must... bye now".

5. Optimal Operational Capacity Party

Before long, the sputters and whirs make way for the sublime harmonies we so crave. Humming like a gnomes dome when their cap is in the wash. Know what I mean? More harmonic resonance makes the machine render the Oscillatium exponentially greater, so our singing is a natural power booster. We become one with the machine, like an orchestra working towards the crescendo.

6. Chamberclang

Over the sweet chorus of all the crystal ember camps and their folk songs, an unexpected rumbling is heard in the distance. Tapping at the rock we appear to hear echoes tapping back.

7. Down Mallets

The cave is rumbling with resonate frequencies all over. Grinding, rolling and scrunching. Murmuring, gasps and idle chit-chat breaks out and fills the cave with a brimming frisson. What's going on? Non-Gnome Intelligence perhaps?
