Oscillator by Cicada
Oscillator was Cicada's debut EP, self-financed and released on Failsafe Records. The first four tracks were recorded on 24-track at The Lab, Auckland in September 1994, engineered by Chris van de Geer and produced by Richard Aspden and Cicada. Track five was recorded at Auckland's York Street Studio in April 1993, engineered by Malcolm Welsford and produced by Jaz Coleman of Killing Joke fame.

Cicada was an alternative, post-rock four-piece formed in Auckland, New Zealand, active from 1992-1998. They combined hard-edged guitar noise with subtle melodies to create a distinctive rhythmic and unnerving sound encapsulated by superbly-crafted shifts in dynamics.
