“Somehow Helped”

The wedding was conceived
The wedding was delayed
The orchestra still played, though
It was the one thing they had going

And in a windy time
The playground structured frame
It somehow helped explain it
The way that life was flowing

The underground was tired
Of all the awful rooms
The piano wasn’t tuned, no no
And the mic would zap your lips

And the antique barn was odd
I couldn’t find a soul
The rooms were very cold, so cold
Yet I’ve always loved these trips

I logged a lot of hours
Of seashells to my ear
I couldn’t tell the year, no
But I know the song that’s playing

And in a windy time

The things that life was saying
