Lyrics
I know this wishing well
You filled the wishing well in
Now nobody wishes there
And I wish that you hadn’t done this… …to them
I got these shapes I cut from
An old magazine from the Eighties
I made some triangles
But they’re all worn out and faded
And I got some pictures of people
Still lives from inside a film
Captured from surreal moments
And occasions like this
Say, will you come with me
I got no place to go
Let’s go there together
And get lost
Say, would you come with me
I’ve got this place I know
Let’s all stand together
Where we will be
Stuck in the mud
I got this hurricane lamp
I keep it for times when a storm blows
That constantly buffers my house
When everything’s feeling too normal
I saw it fall from the roof
I watched as it burst through the table
Clutching to find any proof
A parade of the highly unstable
With no small decisions made
We had to choose for our self
I chose the panoptical view
While you chose to sit on the shelf
We saw the unveiling of heretics
We watched as the mask was put on
I choked on this bitter performance
And knew then that something was wrong
I know this wishing well
You filled the wishing well in
