„Why do people like stars? They’re so far away.“ sings Lisa Germano in one of her songs. Might be the fact that something so mind-blowing like (the light of) a star is actually visible to us, despite its unreachable distance. As for me, I absolutely enjoy contemplating the night sky, imagining that we’re “floating” on this incredible planet in midst such inconceivable vastness. A lot of valuable reflections come to mind while watching the stars!

On the other hand, to me it seems completely unnecessary trying to reach other stars. The huge economic efforts that some apply for space travels should rather be invested in preserving the biodiversity of this planet, investigating a stable future to build a better relationship as humans with nature and trying to recover what humanity has destroyed in its vain avarice.

Time to take the blindfold off our eyes that prevents us to see clearly!
