Lyrics

"past tense"

You wouldn't know this I never told you
yea I think I moved away before it hit me
Do you remember sneaking out late and watching the town fall black
Cause I'm starting to really miss that feeling
And I don't think its ever coming back

I wore that striped shirt, red blue and black
You wore all over prints of different animals
Drinking so much our teeth get cavities
And Id disrespect those red and gray school halls

The middle school rooftop
Is now covered in red paint
Do you still know secret spot
I can't really justify anything
But I'm still fond of those nights, 13 degrees

We’d watch the metro peel in and let of morning commuters,
go to east falls church and not give a fuck at all
Id sit out on your backyard porch and wait for you to finish up,
and let off some steam, the trails we braved all went commercially corrupt

And I know those memories aren't as red as i want to believe
I know you probably don't like me, I can't blame you for that way of thinking
And honestly if I saw you in a store id change my isle
And wait for you to cross me off your paper shopping list
But I also know some of this was probably based on real chapters
So let's hope when they retell that story they cast some pretty actors

The middle school rooftop
Is now covered in red paint
Do you still know secret spot
I'm not trying to justify anything
But I'm still fond of those nights, 13 degrees
We wouldn't wear our winter coats
We wouldn't try to think about anything
But The parents all had kids
that's what you do when you grow up
And we’d just listen to exo,
and wait for us fall apart

The middle school rooftop
Is now covered in red paint
And our tags will wash out
When it finally turns to spring
