Torch Songs by Catherine Traicos
Torch songs typically focus on unrequited love, and through their sweet sadness can bring about a glorious sense of surrender to that particular brand of sorrow.
This is the digital accompaniment to a forthcoming seven inch vinyl, complete with a bonus track.
The songs were recorded before and during various lockdowns and a lot of it was made at a distance. It was fulfilling to explore different possibilities brought on by the limitations of the situation and I was very lucky to work with some amazing people. I hope to repeat the process in person in the future.
