Watching Life by Caryl Mack

Some things are worth preserving, and some things are worth reimagining. In 2020 when the world shut down, my husband and writing partner, Scott, and I embarked on a treasure hunt combing through boxes of cassette tapes, cd’s and Mp3s of hundreds of songs we had written over the years. Listening through our songs was like listening to our life's soundtrack. The stories, the sounds, the studios, the musicians all flooding our senses with the writing and recording experiences around them. In the process of sifting through these little time capsules, we rediscovered a few special song gems that transcended their decade-specific production styles. We imagined how they could sound fresh with new life breathed into them. We took our time - renovations don’t happen overnight - and this little collection of songs has become the "Watching Life” album. I wanted this project to feel timeless, comfortable and grownup and I hope it’s worth the wait.

Caryl Mack is an award-winning, Americana singer/songwriter from Nashville. She is married to songwriter and music publisher, Scott Parker, with whom she regularly performs and co-writes. Their latest collaboration is a collection of songs called "Watching Life" released Spring 2024.
