Sun's setting soon I hear a pack of coyotes
Bears on the prowl, and they're running through the corn
Geese overhead and they're honkin those horns
My head hits the pillow an' I'm gone until the morn

Sun's rising soon and the fields are full of fog
Coffee's in the pot and the fog is burning off
Then the water's flowing, and I'm filling up the trough
I'm glad I'm in the country and I’m living close to God

Yeah, that's living - We're really living here
Rural living -Yeah there's just nothing near…. this good

The well is out of water and there ain't no one to call
We're every skill and trade yeah you know we do it all
Maintain all of our junk an jimmy-rig it if we can
We never buy it new yeah we got a “better” plan

The food is piping hot so we gather all around
Receive it with our thanks cause its coming from our ground
Yeah we’re always eating good taking care of all the land
Helping one another while we’re building future clans
