Impulse by Carl Baugher

Creative work requires an impulse--an impulse to come up with something that did not exist prior. Ideas that can be expressed musically (and pretty much any idea can be expressed musically) are often the foundation these impulses sit upon. In this sense, an impulse is an urge; an urge to invent or make something out of nothing. I consider the act of creating new music to be tantamount to conjuring out of the ether.
